KG Update
By Michael | February 4, 2008
At least KG has came around and realized its best for him and the team that he sits out and heals his body. Also, I’m pleased with the way Doc his handling this matter. Hopefully Garnett will be in shape an healthy by the Spurs game.
Garnett most likely is out for tomorrow night’s game in Cleveland against the Cavaliers and, with no practice in between, Wednesday’s home affair with the Los Angeles Clippers.
“There’s no date (for his return),” Rivers said. “It could be as early as this weekend or it could be after All-Star break (Feb. 15-17). Now this break’s over and he’s not back, but he had four days of no games, so that was a benefit.
“Hopefully, he’s back before All-Star break, but if he’s not, then we have that whole break, as well.”
Garnett has fallen into line with that thinking, as well. Although he tried to talk his way into the lineup against the Magic on Jan. 27, he has cooled his jets since.
“He’s been great since that,” Rivers said. “He was working on adrenaline (Jan. 27). You know, he got in Orlando and thought, ‘You know what? I can go.’ I feel better. But you could look at him and see he couldn’t play. But he’s been great. He doesn’t even bring it up right now.”
“The Boston situation speaks for itself,” Stoudamire said. “Great record, three superstars, best record in NBA. If I would get into a situation like that, I would only hope to help and enhance it. Great coaching, great coaching staff . . .

Memphis Needs Help
By Michael | February 1, 2008
I do not understand why Memphis did this trade, they could of got so much more. What the heck is wrong
The Memphis Grizzlies will send Pau Gasol and a future second-round pick to the Lakers for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, the unofficially retired Aaron McKie , the draft rights to Pau Gasol’s brother Marc and future first-round picks in 2008 and 2010, NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com’s Marc Stein.
It is believed that the Lakers would need to arrange a sign-and-trade for McKie to make the salary cap math work for the deal. McKie is not currently playing in the NBA but his rights are owneed by the Lakers.
All I can say is dumb on Memphis side. Looks like there is now a big chance for a Celtics-Lakers championship.

C’s take on the Mavericks on TNT
By redsceltics34 | January 31, 2008
The 35-8 Boston Celtics host the Dallas Mavericks tonight in a game that the naysayers have been looking forward to. Boston will be without Kevin Garnett in the game so the C’s are going to have there hands full and this should be a very tough game. The Mavs have been a mediocre 11-10 on the road this year but have been great as of late 8-2 in that last 10. I think the match up took look forward to is if James Posey covers Dirk Nowitzki, he did a great job on Nowitzki in the NBA finals a few years back and James is going to have to quiet Dirk down tonight especially without Kevin Garnett. Another match up to look forward to is Paul Pierce and Josh Howard, Howard has been tremendous this year and is hoping to see his name on the list tonight when the all star reserves are announced, maybe deservingly. Big game for Boston tonight would be a great win to pickup.

C’s out of the hunt for Stoudamire?
By redsceltics34 | January 30, 2008
Sources from ESPN are reporting the Celtics are no longer strong candidates to land Damon Stoudamire, and the Spurs are now the front runners. Sad, because he really could of helped this teams back court and gave us a good second option at point guard. I like Eddie House, but just not as our backup point guard. Who knows, maybe the Celtics have a backup plan? Maybe waiting for a Sam Cassell buyout from the Clippers? We will have to wait and see Celtics fans.

So Whats Wrong?
By Michael | January 28, 2008
Since the Celtics lost the five of the last ten games, a lot of us have been pointing fingers. We need a backup point guard, Tony Allen needs to be traded, Doc is a bad coach, it gets quite frustrating. Personally I believe its none of the above. Yes we need a new point guard, and yes Doc does make some bad choices, but the other teams just outplayed us. If anything the refs played more of a roll in the losses then anything the team did.
It’s time to start pointing fingers at the weakest link on this team. Rondo? Nope. Doc Rivers? You guessed it. I just can’t figure out this guy’s rotations. And where’s the rule that says you must sit two of the Big 3 at the start of the 2nd quarter? And why does Pierce always get stuck with the bench guys late in the 3rd? And while I’m in a pissy mood, can we stop mentioning Ray Allen as a potential All-Star this season? He’s not even close.
I’m tired of people complaining about Doc or we need this or that. We have the best record in the NBA, stop complaining and just sit back and enjoy it.

Stoudamire Wants Boston?
By Michael | January 27, 2008
From the sounds of the recent quotes from Stoudamire, Boston would be his number one choice. I’m all for it.
“The Boston situation speaks for itself,” Stoudamire said. “Great record, three superstars, best record in NBA. If I would get into a situation like that, I would only hope to help and enhance it. Great coaching, great coaching staff . . .
A little sucking up there for Doc maybe?
“I’m comfortable with a situation where they are comfortable with me coming in. I’m not going to be a hindrance. There are places where guys fit and don’t fit. I’m going to fit. No selfish motives. If Boston wants to speak to me, I’d be dumb not to look into the situation.”
I love House, but I still think we should get a backup point guard, move House to play the shooting guard more, and take away some minutes to turnover prone Tony Allen. Stoudamire is most likely the best option available, and getting Cassell is a long shot.

So KG is Important
By Michael | January 27, 2008

We need KG to win, the lack of interior presence really hurt. Pierce had a good game, but we just didn’t have that extra spark to lift us over the top. And that shot by Turkoglu was a dagger.

Stoudamire Opts out
By Michael | January 27, 2008
The buyout is scheduled to be made official Monday, sources said. After the Grizzlies formally release him, Stoudamire would then have to clear a 48-hour waiver period before choosing his new team. But the 33-year-old is expected to go unclaimed.
Several teams around the league is interested in Stoudamire, but this should be a must sign for the Celtics. Rondo has been taking a beating this season, and house is a defensive liability. Ainge needs to sign Stoudamire incase something does happen to Rondo.
